the edge first got together in december 2008 (with tenor, Carolyn Huber) to learn a christmas song or two for chorus performances. we had so much fun singing together, we decided to register, get a name (cadence - which we have recently changed), and go to our regional contest in april, 2009, where we took 4th place. here’s bit of history about each of the edge’s singers:

pat wright is the lead. pat won her first regional contest with legacy in 1995 and subsequently medaled repeatedly with this group. she began her sweet adelines international membership in 1990 when she sang with seattle shores chorus. later she transferred to pacific sound chorus where she sang for several years. after moving with her husband to anacortes where they could keep a sharp eye on their boat and remodel their house, the drive to mercer island became too much of a commute. she is a charter member of voices northwest and the section leader for the leads.

tenor, tami kamp, our new addition, has been a member of sweet adelines international for 5 years having sung previously with a cappella joy chorus and champagne quartet (winners of the novice quartet award in 2009). she is a charter member of voices northwest and serves as the tenor section leader.

sue johnson is our third bass - and definitely a "charm". she has been with olympia chorus for 35 years joining when she was 2 (not!). she's also sung in several quartets including true colors, miss behavin, song burst 1,2,3,4 and heatwave nw. she currently serves on her chorus'  music staff and is their bass section leader. she says she's "looking forward to singing with 'the edge'". we're looking forward to it, too!

founder of both voices northwest and pacific sound choruses, sue beck’s membership goes back to 1972. she sings baritone with the edge and sang with pat (legacy) in years past. sue is delighted to be back singing in a quartet again after having had great experiences with seattle times (multiple regional championships), legacy, and sounddesign! for more information about her, check the “about us” page of the voices northwest chorus page as she is the director of the chorus as well.
